Facilitation, Training for Performance Improvement

Performance Improvement

Learning organizations have members that collectively value improvement. These types of environments routinely follow a pattern; they partake in objective assessments and observation, test and share assumptions or experiences, create and apply appropriate actions, and finally, measure results.

Be it identifying initiatives to improve performance or providing guidance on programs to develop talent, the goal is to support individuals/groups/teams as they move from a current to a more desired state of being.

Developing Organizational Strategies

Why modify organizational strategies?

In a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) world of rapid change, staying ahead requires a combination of flexibility, creativity, resilience and patience.

To remain relevant, organizations must be able to adjust to and accommodate a diverse workforce, capitalize on emergent technologies, be prepared to scale up business practices, and create environments for change to occur.

While this may be understood intellectually, in demanding times, leaders typically focus on pressing business needs versus addressing underlying and embedded issues.

When this happens, chaos can ensue and modifications are needed.  Organization development practices encompass holistic, inclusive and proactive approaches when existing or proposed organizational strategies need to be examined.

Developing Teams

Team Development

High-performing teams are groups of individuals with complementary skills who are:

  1. aligned,

  2. committed to a common goal, and who,

  3. actively collaborate toward an outcome that is favorable for all.

Benefits

Characteristics such as shared leadership; diverse membership; effective decision-making; open and clear communication; mutual trust; and the use of amenable conflict management techniques create a culture that advances the entire organization.

There are times when a group of people must move quickly through stages of development to become a team. When this happens, it is usually due to project demands or need. Teams typically go through growing pains and evolve over time.

Prioritizing team development will bring about high-performance characteristics that extend beyond individuals on a particular team. A bonus: groups affiliated with high-performing teams tend to be positively influenced by its practices.

Team & Group Coaching Services

A trained and practiced coach maintains an objective, non-judgmental position, which creates space to be open and authentic. Imagine having someone who listens deeply to what is said or who reads between the lines of what is left unsaid … having someone who will ask questions to help expand perspectives … someone who will reflect and stretch old boundaries … someone who will co-create actions to move forward and finally, someone who will keep the client accountable for commitments made — imagine the progress one can make with this type of support.

Visioning

A Clear Vision

We know that every organization needs a clear vision, a purposeful mission, and a conviction to the values from which it operates. Without vision there is no direction; growth is compromised and the organization is bound to flounder or fail.  When innovating or planning any type of change consider these questions:

Consider…

  • Does your organization have a well-defined vision; can leaders clearly articulate it to others?

  • Do members understand their contribution, individual and collective, to the direction and outcome of that vision?

  • Does everyone see the big picture of the organization?

If you answered “yes” to all of the above, that's great!

If “no”, there’s help! Karen can guide leaders through visioning exercises by balancing logical with intuitive. Engaging left-brain logic with right-brained awareness of heart, mind, and spirit informs inspires those during the planning process.  When the vision is clear, the mission and values have been identified, a foundation is set for ideas to align, goals set and resources identified in order to bring the organization’s vision to life.

Where there is no vision, there is no hope.
